Abstract

A new critical edition of the three grammatical treatises of R. Judah Ḥayyuj (10th–11th century), presenting the original Arabic text alongside a Modern Hebrew translation, by Ali Watad and Daniel Sivan. Ḥayyuj is regarded as the father of scientific Hebrew grammar founded on the theory of the triliteral root; this critical edition (Beersheba: Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Press, 2012, ca. 634 pp.) is a foundational tool for the study of his linguistic theory.
